Atlanta With Kid website covers a big area of Atlanta metro. We have readers from as far as northern metro in Forsyth County. So today we are excited to have the Forsyth County expert on the house. Mandi is the owner of CummingLocal.com, hyperlocal resource for families in Cumming and Forsyth county. She shares with us kids-approved activities for the summer in Forsyth county, Georgia.
Summers are lots of fun in Cumming, GA & the Forsyth County area. Yes, we can definitely drive in town to take advantage of some great things in Atlanta, but there is plenty of fun to be had right here in our own town! I asked my kids (7 year old son & 4 year old daughter) to help me come up with this list. So in no particular order (because I couldn’t get them to agree on anything!!) here we go …
5 Summer Time Activities for Kids in Forsyth County, GA
1. Old Atlanta Spray Pad:
This just opened last year. It’s fun for the kids because they get to run around spraying water on their friends and dumping buckets of water on themselves. It’s also a great choice for moms & dads too because it’s only $2 per child and with no swimming area parents can relax a little more or chat with a friend as you watch the kids enjoy themselves. 2. FREE Summer Movies:
Movies 400 in Cumming offers a free summer movie for kids every Tuesday and Thursday. This is definitely a favorite for both the kids and myself – especially when we’re trying to beat the heat in Atlanta!! Click here to check out the listing at Movies 400.
3. Lake Lanier:
Whether you own your own boat, rent one, buddy up to some friends that have one, or just visit a beach at Lake Lanier, it’s awesome to have Lake Lanier and Lake Lanier Islands so close! Mary Alice Park offers a sandy beach to visit in Forsyth County – you’ll also find grills, picnic tables, a pavilion and boat ramps.
4. Cumming Aquatic Center:
The aquatic center is definitely a fun place to check out whether you live in or are just visiting Forsyth County. With a water park, zero entry, and leisure pool, it’s fun for the whole family! Day passes and annual passes are available. Hours are a little tricky, so make sure you read up & are aware before packing up the car! Click here to learn more.
5. 4th Of July Festivities:
And summer isn’t complete with out a lot of 4th of July fun!! The City of Cumming hosts an annual Fireworks show on the 3rd and a Steam Engine Parade on the 4th. Food & Business vendors are also on site, plus lots of music, and fun! It’s really a great 2-day event that we look forward to each year! Click here for information on the 2013 festivities.
