Ovation Award-winning company the Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre presents its annual holiday performances of The Nutcracker. In this perennial winter favorite, a young girl receives a wooden Nutcracker for Christmas as a gift. That night, she dreams of a Nutcracker Prince who travels with her through the Land of Sweets. GMDT pays homage to the rich tradition of The Nutcracker by keeping the production grounded in holiday tradition and classical ballet technique. At the same time, they breathe new life into the dance with their own artistic vision and interpretation.
