My family has a lot of drama. Well, not the typical family drama. We like drama. As in attending play, musicals, shows of any kind really. Especially my Maggie and I— we are all about seeing a show. While we love to head downtown to the Fox and see a big show, that can get a little pricey. (Although be sure to check out Goldstar for some good deals.) So, we look to our local theater for some fun shows to see.
March is the jackpot of all theater in local high schools and drama troupes. We have three shows on our schedule for the next two weekends. I wanted to share what I found in the Alpharetta/Cumming area with you. I’m sure I’ve just scraped the surface. Check your local high school’s website. They might have a drama program, and if they do, I bet they’re doing a show soon. Also, keep your ear out for local children’s theaters. Their shows are typically shorter and great for younger audiences.
Local theater is a great way to introduce your child to plays and musicals without paying a great deal and without having to drive downtown (something I try to avoid truthfully). So click around on the web and see what you can find!
