Inexpensive Halloween Ideas
With Halloween just around the corner, I love going through store catalogs and dog-earing inspiration for ways to spooky up our home. While I’ll freely admit I’d love to own that glittery bat chandelier I saw on page 10, I just can’t justify paying those prices! Instead, I transform our home with a mix of inexpensive pieces and all natural décor.
Combining classic, black silhouettes with a pop of fun, bright colors is an easy way to give your home an instant spook factor. A Halloween banner from Target’s dollar section stars as the centerpiece for our fireplace mantle. To complete the look, add 3D candelabras, a black feather boa for texture and stacks of real pumpkins.
Want a little more spook factor? I found these awesome packs of bat and mice silhouettes for just $1 each. Arrange the bats in a swarm over the fireplace or across your front door. A little double stick tape will even give your stairs a temporary ratty makeover!
Got less than five minutes but still want a little pop of Halloween in your home? Cover framed art or photos with inexpensive Halloween scrapbook paper for under $1. And last but not least, a simple addition to any home is a FREE Halloween printable surrounded by real pumpkins and gourds.
Happy decorating!
