There is nothing better to lift up any foul mood than a delicious scoop of ice cream. Today Tara Nalley, our Atlanta Parent Squad, shows us her family favorite ice cream shops in Canton.

Well, with my family, problems usually occur when we drive past any of Canton’s ice cream shops—without stopping for ice cream! And, it is difficult to travel the streets and back roads of Canton, with so many delicious and delightful choices.
Sweet Escapes
Hard to miss since we have to drive past it whenever we leave our house is Canton’s newest ice cream shop, Sweet Escapes.
Locally owned, Sweet Escapes sign beckons drivers to stop in for a cone. Joining the multiple flavors of frozen treats available every day are homemade desserts, coffees, and many breakfast and lunch items. We love to stop in, grab a cone, and chill under the umbrellas on the deck; maybe you will, too.

Frosty Frog Creamery and Café
When we are out and about in East Cherokee, we love to hop on over to the Frosty Frog Creamery and Café.
This ice cream pad’s purple and green décor is fun and inviting. Homemade ice cream is available in a dozen or more flavors every day. Cupcakes, cakes, and pies are also available (and delicious!) and join a full café menu complete with wraps, sandwiches, soups and salads that are paired with the best cheese spread around.
Jump for joy on Monday and Tuesday nights when kids eat free from 5-9….and don’t forget the ice cream!

Dairy Queen
A trip down memory lane ends at the Dairy Queen in south Canton. When I played softball growing up, we didn’t have a snack after the game like my sons do now. Back then, a win earned us a trip to the DQ. The entire team loaded up in the back of a pick up truck and away we went.
Those were the days! Although my sons haven’t celebrated wins this way, we still love a trip to the Dairy Queen. As their ad says, “summer and soft serve…Always better together” is true. A chocolate covered cone, sitting under those red and white umbrellas, and a cool summer breeze……can’t wait until we go to the DQ again.
