Halloween is actually my son’s favorite holiday because “I can get so many candies in one night” he said. For parents, taking kids out for trick or treat around the neighborhood is also a fun way to explore our neighborhood that we mostly drive by.

However, if you want to get more mileage out from the costume you have made or purchased this year, there are several fun Halloween events in Atlanta that your kids will sure love to check them out.

Acworth: Halloween Carnival

Join the Acworth Parks and Recreation Department on Saturday at Logan Farm Park from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. for our annual Halloween Carnival. For a minimal charge each child can participate in many different games and activities where they can win candy and prizes. There is also a costume contest that is broken up into different age groups. Parking is limited. Shuttles run from Roberts School and the corner of Cherokee Street and Northside Drive. The event begins at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.

Atlanta: Brick or Treat @ LEGOLAND Discovery Center

Join us for a fun and not-so-scary time at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta!

Little Ghosts, Little Goblins, and Little Monsters take over LEGOLAND Discovery Center Atlanta during the month of October for Brick-or-Treat!

Bring your little monsters, princesses and superheroes and join us for a fun and not-so- scary time here at LEGOLAND Discovery Center at Phipps Plaza! There will be free giveaways, see LEGO monsters takeover Miniland and help us create a LEGO Pumpkin patch! All activities start Saturday, Oct 6th and last all week long!

Get ready to have a screaming (in delight) good time! Follow the screams (of delight) to Fernbank BOO-seum for a day of frightening-ly fun Halloween-themed activities. Free treats for kids in costumes!*

Atlanta: Boo at the Zoo @ Zoo Atlanta

Atlanta’s favorite fun family Halloween festival returns for just four days! Explore magical paths, sample sweet treats*, meet the whimsical characters of Zoo Boo Town, and much more on two enchanted weekends with more than 1,000 animals from around the world. Plus, explore Scarecrows in the Garden. The Garden is stuffed with more than 100 wacky creations.

Atlanta: Georgia A-Scary-Um @ Georgia Aquarium

Georgia A-Scary-Um will provide a safe and friendly environment for the whole family to have fun in costume and trick-or-treat in a unique environment with batfish, spider crabs and more creatures from the deep.

On Wednesday, October 31, all kids 12 and under in costume will receive FREE general admission with each paid adult or Annual Pass holder (up to 2 free kids).* Get in the spirit with Georgia A-Scary-Um, which will be decked out with Halloween decorations. Visit the trick-or-treat candy stations in each gallery while Halloween music plays throughout the world’s largest aquarium. Then, participate in the Halloween-themed arts and crafts tables and costume contests throughout the day!

In addition to all of the great giveaways, we are proud to once again partner with Green Halloween, a non-profit, community initiative to create and provide healthier and more Earth-friendly options to families. Atlanta: Ghostly Halloween Party @ Northlake Mall

Calling all ghosts and goblins it’s time to party at the Kidgits Club Ghostly Halloween Party on Wednesday, October 31 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Come dressed to scare up a really fun time for kids of all ages! Radio Disney will host a costume parade at Center Court, and mall wide trick-or-treating will be available at participating stores. Kidgits Club members will have a special area to enjoy activites. Not a member join today or at the event for a $5 annual membership. Please note masks may only be worn by children 12 and under.

The Buckhead community is invited to a Trunk or Treat event for children and their families from 6–7 p.m. in the Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church parking lot on Wednesday, October 31. Mall of Georgia opens its doors to trick-or-treaters at 6 p.m. until the candy runs out! Participating stores will have a sign posted in their store front window. Halloween photos will also be available for purchase in Nordstrom Court. Cumming: Forsyth County Trunk or Treat

Bring the whole family and have fun learning how to stay safe. The event will include stranger danger, fire safety and traffic safety information.  Also, participants can enjoy candy, face painting, tattoos and food. All ages are welcome. Marietta: Fall Festival of Fun

Cobb County Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department along with Cobb County Public Safety, Safe Kids Cobb County and Cobb County 4-H are hosting the 13th Annual Fall Festival of Fun on Wednesday, October 31st at the Cobb County Safety Village . The event will begin at 4:00pm and end at 7:00pm. This event will provide the children of Cobb County a safe alternative to the traditional Trick-or-Treat in their neighborhoods.

The festival will include arts and crafts, games, inflatable rides, Police and Fire activities, costume and coloring contests, a photo booth and other surprises. Parking, entrance to the park, games, candy and contests are free (there is a fee for concessions and inflatable rides). Come wearing your Halloween costume and be sure to bring a bag to carry all of your candy!

Norcross: BOOfest

From October 23 – 31, kids and adults will have plenty to do during an event that combines elements from Halloween, Mexico’s “Day of the Dead” celebration, and the spiritual magic behind African masks and Lowcountry Gullah. BOOfest includes mask-making workshops, storytelling, building and decorating a traditional altar, a film, a bike-decorating contest, a “Mask-Parade” between Lillian Webb Park and Thrasher Park, and more.

Event for Saturday, October 27, Free Kids workshop – come paint a mask! Storytelling, African masks and “Day of the Dead” masks, Halloween masks. Kids are invited to decorate their bikes and show off their Halloween costumes and homemade masks by participating in the Norcross Mask-Parade. This is free to anyone who wants to join in – just show up at Lillian Webb Park on Oct. 27th around 4:15 for the parade beginning at 4:30pm.

Powder Springs: Trunk or Treat @ Powder Springs First United Methodist

FREE family-fun event! Don’t miss Trunk-or-Treat on October 28th from 5-7pm at Powder Springs First United Methodist located at 4329 Marietta Street in Powder Springs, GA. Car “trunks” will be decorated and packed full of fun treats and games for the kids. Enjoy hayrides, assorted candy, and inflatables to play in! Costumes are encouraged, but not required. Dinner and snack foods will also be available to purchase for a small fee. All proceeds will help fund our mission and youth projects.
