Adapted from the Broadway version especially for young audiences, Seussical Jr.’s stories are linked together by Horton the Elephant, who’s out to prove that “a person’s a person, no matter how small,” and JoJo, a young boy who’s a “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks.” The colorful cast adventures through the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus and the invisible world of the Whos of Whoville. The whimsical stories are backed by myriad musical styles, from Latin to pop, swing to gospel and R&B to funk. Dr. Seuss’ sense of fun and wonder comes through loud and clear, making this a musical that appeals to all ages.
