Dahlonega’s 4th of July Celebration

Visit Dahlonega and celebrate the 4th of July!! Event includes a 5k and 10k race, a Patriotic Ceremony on the lawn of the Gold Museum, a watermelon cutting by The Dahlonega Nugget, an antique auto show, and musicians filling the square with diverse sounds of bluegrass, folk and country music. The Independence Day Parade through the historic square begins around 5pm and ends just in time to find a spot on the nearby drill field of the University of North Georgia to await the fireworks.

9:00 AM- Fun Run Start
10 AM – 5PM: Gold City Classic Car Club Show – Courthouse Hill on East Main Street
10 AM- 6 PM: Community Service Corner – Historic Downtown Square
11 AM- 5 PM: Kids Fun Zone, Games, Home Depot Workshop – Hancock Park
Noon: Patriotic Ceremony with Mayor Gary McCullough – Dahlonega Gold Museum Lawn
2 PM: The Dahlonega Nugget and Wal-Mart present a watermelon cutting with free slices – Hancock Park
2 PM- 5 PM: Enjoy live music and entertainment with the Appalachian Jam – Dahlonega Gold Museum Lawn
5 PM: Join Grand Marshall, Sheriff Stacy Jarrard, for the Independence Day Parade – Downtown Dahlonega
6 PM: First Friday Night Concert Series features Radford Windham & Step Back Cadillac – Hancock Park
6 PM: Enter the Star Spangled Picnic, Picnic served at 7:30 p.m. – University of North Georgia Plaza (Tickets may be purchased at the Visitor Center in Downtown Dahlonega – limited seating available)
6 PM – 9 PM: Hot dogs, BBQ, Chips & Beverages for sale – University of North Georgia Drill Field
AT DARK the University of North Georgia presents Spectacular Fireworks display!
