The family favorite event of the summer is definitely enjoying fireworks on the 4th of July weekend. Atlanta has many choices for the people in the metro and surrounding area.

Here is a complete list of July 4th Celebration in Atlanta and the Fireworks Spectacular for the Independence Day.

Cumming: 4th of July @ Cumming

The City of Cumming has the BEST 4th of July Celebration around!! The Independence Day Celebration begins on July 3rd at 6:00 p.m. with various vendors including food and drink, inflatables for kids, a live band, wonderful fireworks display along with an all age dance contest following the fireworks. Bring your blanket, set out on the lawn and enjoy the festivities. There is no admission or parking fee for the July 3rd celebration!

On July 4th come and enjoy the famous Steam Engine Parade beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Parade will include steam engines, antique tractors, antique cars and many other floats decorated in the spirit of the holiday. Following the Steam Engine Parade you can take a closer look at the steam engines, tractors and cars at the Fairgrounds.

Duluth: Celebrates America 2011 @ Scott Hudgens Park

Gates open at 4 pm.

Festivities will include live entertainment, food vendors, activities for the kids, fabulous fireworks display & MORE!

FREE Admission, but monetary donations will be graciously accepted.

Kennesaw: Salute to America @ The Depot

Salute to America, a pre-Independence Day celebration, will feature high-energy, live music performances and family entertainment; plus one of the biggest and brightest, star-spangled firework displays in North Georgia. Main stage performers include teen singing sensation Kaylin McClure, an electrifying Neil Diamond tribute show featuring the vocal talents of Conner Lorre, and The Stranger, who are undeniably the world’s most authentic tribute to the legendary Billy Joel. Family stage performers include the band Revolution, and singer-songwriters Hannah DeLane and Savannah Jade. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Lawrenceville: Prelude to the 4th @ Gwinnett Historic Courthouse

Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association presents Lawrenceville’s annual Prelude to the Fourth, a free musical celebration! This year the Aurora Theatre will bring us Big River held on the Historic Courthouse lawn. Families and friends can enjoy the outdoor performance and a spectacular fireworks finale on the eve of the Fourth of July.

The musical is FREE! You can bring your outdoor lawn seats but reserved tables for six can be rented beginning at $125 by contacting the Lawrenceville Visitors Center at 678.226.2639.

The lawn and table seating are available starting at 5:30 p.m. There is no Alcohol allowed on the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse lawn.

Norcross: Independence Day Celebration @ Historic Norcross

Family fun all afternoon in the downtown area, then at 7pm, The Mike Veal Band goes onstage in Lillian Webb Park! Bring your chairs and blankets and plan to hang out with us – it’s a free concert that goes until dusk when Norcross’ always-awesome fireworks will wow you into the night!

Please refrain from setting up tents or bringing glass containers of any sort – otherwise, picnics and to-go dinners ordered from our downtown restaurants are welcome!

Atlanta: 4th of July Celebration @ Centennial Olympic Park

Enjoy a full day of fun and entertainment for the entire family, including downtown Atlanta’s best fireworks display. Park gates open at 6 p.m.and fireworks start at approximately 9:40 p.m. The finale of the evening is Centennnial Olympic Park’s Fireworks Spectacular, Atlanta’s best fireworks display synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.

Tips:

  • Arrive early for the family friendly activities and you might not want to stay till late at night. Kids might be restless and it might be way too late for them.
  • Parking might be limited so look for alternative like MARTA. If you do choose to go with MARTA, definitely plan to leave early and catch the firework at the comfort of your home.

Acworth: Fourth of July Concerts & Fireworks @Cauble Park

Enjoy live music and fireworks at Cauble Park. The entertainments start at 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. Admission to the concerts are free to the general public. Shuttles are available in the dowtown area to take you down to the park. Tables for six can be purchased.

Alpharetta: July 4th Fireworks and Festivals @ Wills Park

Celebrate Independence Day with family and friends at Wills Park on Wednesday, July 4, 2012!  The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department will provide free “inflatables” for children to play and jump on from 4pm to 8pm on the lawn behind the Alpharetta Community Center.  Food vendors with treats such as barbeque, hot dogs, burgers, fries, ice cream, frozen lemonade, and more will be located throughout the park selling concessions from 4pm to 9pm.

The Alpharetta City Band will perform a medley of patriotic favorites beginning at 6pm on the lawn behind the Community Center.  Serious Business, a local band, takes the stage from 7pm to 9pm to entertain the crowd with country and rock ‘n’ roll favorites.  Our spectacular fireworks display begins at dusk!

Atlanta: Legendary 4th of July @ Lenox Square Mall

As cities across the U.S. host July 4th fireworks extravaganzas, Atlanta’s Lenox Square is home to the Southeast’s largest celebration, attracting more than 200,000 people annually. Lenox Square’s annual event is patriotic fun with family-friendly live musical entertainment on the mall’s outdoor main stage. Culminating the evening will be the signature fireworks display, featuring thousands of fireworks bursting in air for approximately 20 minutes, accompanied by a patriotic musical soundtrack. Lenox Square’s legendary celebration is free and open to the public.

A day of Fire and Water! If you plan to spend a day at Lake Lanier Islands Water park on Fourth of July, don’t forget to plan for late stay to enjoy the firework over the lake

Buford: Fabulous Fourth of July Celebration @ Mall of Georgia

The northern corridor of Atlanta metro area doesn’t have to worry about trekking downtown and fighting with traffic. Mall of Georgia puts out a great celebration with fun, family friendly activities ranging from giant inflatable, kids rides, and Kidgits Fun Run in the morning. Free concerts begin at 2 p.m. in the Village Amphitheatre. Kids Zone opens at 2 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:15pm

Canton: 4th of July Celebration @ Riverstone

The parade will start at 6pm. If you are a participant in the parade you will line up behind Publix Shopping center at 5pm.

Decatur: July 4th Pied Piper Parade

Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. It ends at the Community Bandstand on the square with a presentation of colors and the Star Spangled Banner. The concert, featuring the Callanwolde Concert Band, begins at 7 p.m. in the Community Bandstand. Fireworks begin at dark (approximately 9 p.m.) and are shot from the top of the DeKalb County parking deck.

Douglasville: Independence Day Parade & Fireworks @ Downtown East Point

The annual Independence Day Parade starts at 10:00 am on July 4. The parade will take the regular route along Church Street from Fairburn Road to Rose Avenue, turning left on Rose and left again on Selman Drive. This family-friendly event hosted by the City of Douglasville and SHARE House, includes the Douglasville Idol Competition, arts & craft vendors, entertainment, kid’s activities, barbeque and more! All proceeds benefit SHARE House, a family violence crises center.

East Point: July 4th Hometown Celebration @ Downtown East Point

The celebration is always on the 4th of July. It is held across from the East Point MARTA station & East Point City Hall.

This fun filled event features activities for the whole family, including a professional Carnival complete with carousel, Ferris wheel, rides, games and more, Watermelon Eating Contest, a select merchandise vendor market, musical performances throughout the evening, a fabulous food court including Italian ice, funnel cakes, smoked and grilled meats, fried fish, beer and tropical drinks and more, and of course, the evening’s highlight at 9:30pm… South Fulton County’s largest Pryo Digital Fireworks display synchronized to a musical score!

Marietta: Fourth of July Celebration @ Marietta Square

The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. at Roswell Street Baptist Church and travels west on Roswell Street, north on East Park Square past Glover Park and the Square, down Cherokee Street and ends at North Marietta Parkway.

Roswell: July 4th Extravaganza @ Roswell High School

Show your patriotism by celebrating our Country’s Independence Day in Roswell with entertainment and a breathtaking fireworks display. This year’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Roswell High School located on King Road off of SR 92. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m.

Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics for an old fashion family outing. Concessions by Shane’s Rib Shack will be on hand to purchase. Children’s carnival and inflatable activities will be available at a nominal fee.

Stone Mountain: Fantastic Fourth Celebration @ Stone Mountain Park

There will firework and laser shows from July 3rd to July 4th. The parking fee is $10 per vehicle. If you only plan to enjoy the firework, then you just have to pay for the parking but there will be no re-entry during that time. If you have an annual pass to Stone Mountain, it will be a great fun for the whole family with kids to enjoy the attraction before the firework.

Park attractions will open at 10 am on July 3rd and 4th and the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision, will start at 9:30pm. Be aware that on July 4th the Park may close the gates early once parking capacity is reached. Please also note, that for safety reasons, no pedestrian traffic will be allowed to enter the Park through the main entrance on Highway 78.

Woodstock: July 4th Freedom Fest @ Downtown City Park

Don’t miss Woodstock July 4th event start of with the parade starts at Hwy. 92 (old WalMart/Furniture Express) and goes north on Main Street through the Olde Town merchant district to Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Rd. Follow by festival in in The Park at City Center until 3pm for food, Adam the juggler, Tim the Magician, musical entertainment, children’s games, cake walk, arts and crafts, and vendors of all types. Fun for young and old! Don’t forget the Annual Woodstock Freedom Run at 7:30 am.

Fireworks start at dusk at Target Shopping center at Hwy 92 and I-575.
